2008 O’CONNELL REGATTA FOOD ASSIGNMENTS

The 2008 DJO Crew Spirit Committee welcomes all new and returning students to Crew!
We look forward to keeping you, our awesome Crew Team, nourished and hydrated at every regatta.  However, we need your help (and the help of your parents) and here is how we will accomplish our goal of keeping you nourished and hydrated:

1) Each “SEAT” in the boat will bring in a food, the same food, every regatta.

Please bring the following food directly to the food tent when you arrive at a regatta:

Coxswain:    One 10 lb. bag of Ice and one 12 oz whipped Cream Cheese containers
1st seat(stroke):   18 Bagels
2nd seat:       2 bunches of bananas (ripe) or crate/box of Clementines
3rd seat:        1 half gallons of orange juice and 1 half gallon of ice tea or lemonade
4th seat:        2 (two) – 8 packs (20 oz. bottles) of G2 Gatorade
5th seat:        1 case of water (24 bottles)
6th seat:       12 - 16 Nutrigrain Bars (or other healthy bars)
7th seat:        a gallon Ziploc baggie filled with seedless grapes or strawberries
8th seat(bow):       a gallon Ziploc baggie filled with carrots and or other veggies

Extra nutritional treats for the Rowers are always welcome.  The kids really appreciate these “extra” after they row their hearts out!

2) ROWERS please PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF and keep the tent area neat.

3) Please note that this healthy food is for ROWERS FIRST.  Coffee/tea may be available for parents.  However, parents are ALWAYS welcome to bring brownies/cookies/pound cake, etc. to share with other parents and kids.  Most regattas have refreshment and /or food stands, or you can bring your own food and drinks in a cooler.

4) Parents – We can ALWAYS use your help, keeping the tables neat and clean, refreshing the plates of items, and picking up the trash.

5) We will e-mail families when it is your turn to make sandwiches for regattas when we will need to serve lunch.  This will be assigned by boat by week so the rower needs to know where they are rowing (at least if they know).

6)  If you want to sit down, bring a chair.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS!
Spirit Co-Chairs:  Meg Murphy (703)435-6746 and Tracy Richardson (703)742-7632

Tent at Occoquan will be near the O’Connell boat trailer.
